Policy on protecting personal data

Shinryo Corporation collects and uses data such as customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses in order to facilitate its business operations. We consider protecting such personal data to be an important responsibility, and we handle it in accordance with the following policy in order to carry out that responsibility.

(1) We handle personal data in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, other applicable laws, and generally recognized best practices. We also strive to improve our handling of personal data.
(2) We have put in place explicit rules relating to the handling of personal data and taken steps to ensure employees understand them.
(3) When we acquire personal data, we identify the specific purpose for which that data will be used, provide notice or other disclosure of it, and handle associated data in accordance with that purpose.
(4) We take such steps as are necessary to manage personal data in an appropriate manner so that it is not leaked, lost, altered, or otherwise compromised.
(5) We accept, and comply with in an appropriate manner, requests from customers to disclose, correct, or cease use of personal data in our possession.

1. Purposes of use
We use personal data for the following purposes:
(1) To provide, maintain, protect, and improve this service, for example by accepting registration requests related to our products and services and confirming customers’ identities
(2) To provide information about, and accommodate inquiries and other contacts concerning, our products and services
(3) To deal with behavior that violates the terms of use and other policies we have put in place with regard to our products and services
(4) To provide notice of changes to terms of use and other policies related to our products and services
(5) To accomplish other purposes that are ancillary to the above
Apart from the above, we may also use log data about users acquired in connection with our services (including IP address, browser type, and browser language, as automatically generated and saved when you use our services) as well as cookies, anonymous IDs, and other data to compile statistics, after it has been anonymized to prevent identification of individual users.


2. Disclosure and provision to third parties
We do not disclose or otherwise provide personal data to third parties without the advance consent of the individual in question, except where required by law.

3. Joint use of personal data
We may make joint use of personal data that we have obtained in conjunction with other companies that belong to the Mitsubishi Chemical Group.*1
In the event of disclosure to affiliate companies outside Japan, we will obtain the prior consent of the individual concerned.
